If you don’t have customer feedback, then the bottom line is that you are in the dark. You will be in the dark both about what your customers think about your product as well as how they feel that you could better serve them. In short, not having customer feedback as part of your website means that you are simply flying blind.

Is customer feedback the single best thing you can do for your customers? Once you have provided your customers with a quality service or product, the next best move you can make for both your business and your customer is to get that all important customer feedback.

What could be more important than knowing exactly what your customers think? If they like your produce, then it is important to know why this is the case. As a business owner, being able to learn what features or services people enjoy the most is simply worth its weight in gold. Likewise, if there are problems with your company’s products and services, knowing about them affords you the important opportunity to learn and grow.

Customer feedback will give you valuable information about how your customers think, use your product, use your website and even what ways you might be able to improve your product or service. Customer feedback really is everything if you want to grow your business and reach new markets and consumers.

Should you make it a priority to integrate consumer feedback into your existing ecommerce site? The answer is most definitely. By not having some form of consumer feedback, you are essentially letting valuable information slip through your fingers. Customers will often divulge a great deal of information if given a simple and structured opportunity to do so. Why not take advantage of the fact that your customers want to give you lots of feedback.

While some customers may skip on giving you customer feedback, enough people will be more than happy to volunteer information. Once you have seen just how valuable this type of customer feedback is to your business, you will have no interest in ever being without it again.

Any person going to your website will want to know that you have a website privacy policy. This is very important if you want to do any business or generate any type of rapport with anyone who will look at your website.

Here are some website privacy policy tips:

Keep It Simple.

Make the policy easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find on your Website.

Promote your policy internally in employee communications. Consumers are concerned about this issue, and your employees should know how your company responds to those concerns.

Promote your policy with key stakeholders, including customers, investors, contributors, and policymakers. Website privacy policies put consumers in charge of their information.

Update your policy as needed to stay current with changes in your business.

Operators of a commercial website or online service that collect personally identifiable information through the Internet, are required to conspicuously post a website privacy policy on their website that complies with prescribed disclosures. The privacy policy must:

(1) identify the categories of Personally Identifiable Information that the operator collects through the Website or online service and the categories of third-party persons or entities with whom the operator may share Personally Identifiable Information;

(2) describe how a consumer can review and make changes to his or her personally identifiable information, if the operator allows such review and changes;

(3) describe how consumers can learn of changes in the operator’s website privacy policy; and

(4) identify the effective date of the website privacy policy.

Just a little side note – a privacy policy generator is available for those who would like to generate their own website privacy policies. The privacy policy generator should also create a policy reference file for you. This file will instruct web browsers where to look for the policy on any given page.

Creating a website privacy policy will be the smartest thing you can do for your business. It will give your consumers peace of mind and let them know how important they are to you. Just a little time and energy will be all that you need to create this policy. It will be well worth the time!
